We've Arrived!

I have been told that just having a blog does not actually qualify you as a "blogger." So here it is my first official blog! Any of you that know me know that I am a bit of a procrastinator. My mom and Emily designed this lovely blog and I am just now getting around to doing my first post. In my defence I have been home only two days out of the past three weeks. We (me and my two boys) are currently in Bakersfield helping my Mom and Dad. I'm sure any one who is reading this is aware of the situation that brought us here. I have been wanting to plan a trip to Bakersfield lately I just wish it could have been under different circumstances. Even though Mom is still recovering and not at the top of her game it is so nice being here. Ashton is especially fond of his Grandma Linda. While Mom was still in the hospital he just kind of moped around the house. He even tried devising a plan which involved eating too many cookies and being admitted to the same hospital and room where Grandma was. Very sweet! I am grateful we were able to come and be of some help. Heather has been very generous to watch the boys during the day for me last week so I could visit mom in the hospital. I feel so blessed to have the family that I do. Every one has done their part through this difficult time. It touches my heart to see the love and devotion that exists in this family especially between my sweet parents. Dad has hardly left Mom's side in the past two weeks and even has to be reminded to eat! I want to thank my sweet husband for letting us be here I know its been a sacrifice for him to be away from me and our boys. Sean is a hard worker and has been very busy with the new business he and his brother Todd are starting or he would be here with us.

On a different note, I just wanted to publicly say how much I enjoyed Elder Ballard's talk during the Sunday session of conference. There is always that one talk that really sticks out for you and his is exactly what I needed to hear. Sometimes we may feel overwhelmed or maybe a little inadequate and what he said about us being in different seasons of our lives and just doing what we can in our own specific situations really spoke to me. I love being a wife and mother and truly appreciate this amazing responsibility I have been blessed with.

On a bright note, I thought everone would enjoy some updated photos of the boys. Some were taken by Sean's talented sister, Jennifer, and one was taken here in Bakersfield.

I love the pictures of our cute little nephews. Little Alva is so cute and round :). Sarah the only thing that made me feel sort of at peace with the whole Mom situation was that you were there so quickly. I know that they really appreciate you being there helping out and I do too.

When Mom had her car accident I was able to leave poor Jeremy for about two months with our little Jake and now you have made the sacrifice. I would say that fair is fair and Emily has to take her turn next ;). Glad to see you blogging!!

I hope there isn't a next time! But if I'm ever needed I would be there as soon as possible.

It's so good to see you blogging Sarah. I too loved Elder Ballard's talk. I told the girls to listen up when he told the children to pick up their toys and help their moms with chores without being asked.

The pictures of the boys are adorable! Alvie totally has Ellie beat in the sitting department. I think he must have more of a bottom-half to keep him stable. They are some cute boys!

Yea... you've jumped on the ever so addicting world of "blogging". I am happy to hear that you mom is doing better. Taliana and Ammon were fighting over who got to say our prayer so they could bless her.

I know Sean missed you a ton. We talked several times... almost an hour evey time. I told him he could use a buddy pass to LA. He said he will see when you are coming back. You know our offer is ALWAYS extended to you.

Take care. See you soon!
